Ms. Abramowski is an Advisor & Consultant in the financial crimes risk management industry providing strategic analysis and overall assessment of program development. Known for introducing innovative management techniques that improve organizational risk management capabilities. Outcome-oriented leader who combines deep-seated analytic faculties with the interpersonal skill set to effectively build relationships, manage high-performing teams, and communicate strategies and goals to diverse stakeholders. She is currently working with Fintech Startups, financial institutions, academia’s on research, and payments firms to provide innovative risk and compliance solutions.
Previously, she served as the Managing Director, Head of Financial Crimes Risk Management at The Bancorp and grew that practice into what today is the company’s Financial Crimes Risk Management unit. Ms. Abramowski has over 21 years’ of comprehensive achievements in public and private sector with special focus in Compliance/Risk Management and law enforcement industries. She has key subject matter expertise spanning anti-money laundering (AML), fraud, sanctions, anti-corruption, regulation, and compliance. She is known for introducing innovative management techniques that improve organizational risk management capabilities.
Prior to joining The Bancorp, from 2006 – 2014 Ms. Abramowski held senior level roles at wall street firms in NYC. Before that from 1996 – 2006 she spent her career in public service in investigative and intelligence capacity with municipal, state and federal agencies ending with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She holds an MBA in Management from Adelphi University Robert B. Willumstad School of Business and a MA and BA in Government and Politics from St. John’s University.
Ms. Abramowski serves as Adjunct Faculty, Advisory Board member and is the Chair of the Advisory Board’s Executive Committee for Case Western Reserve University – School of Law’s Financial Integrity Institute. She also serves on Women’s Board for City Year New York an education focused nonprofit that partners with public schools in high-poverty communities. Lastly, she is an Executive Council Member with Ellevate Network a global professional women’s network.
Ms. Abramowski is quoted regularly as a Financial Crimes expert in media publications on key topics and is a regular speaker in the financial services industry focusing on supporting innovation and finding a balance between financial crimes risk.
